Yep, that would be his latest word...mine. He likes to say, "Mine, no, mine" in this really awesome tone...like nails on a chalkboard. We are working on it. We started by telling him that it wasn't his, but it was God's...started to think that something would get a little lost in translation. He is still trying to repeat a lot of words and continues to grow his vocabulary everyday...clearly, we wouldn't mind some of those words being dropped. I love hearing his sweet voice, when it is sweet, and all of his new words...it is so fun.
Don't have a lot to post...so, sorry if this is boring. Hugh is an amazing jumper and we have actually seen him get both feet off the ground at the same time. Many of you may think that isn't a big deal, but it is HUGE...jumping is a big deal and Hugh is the best jumper we know. He also is a GREAT dancer...like amazing. He gets his moves from his Mama, an AMAZING dancer...just ask my family...I could have been a professional. He loves to listen to music and will bust out his famous moves, which look similar to his jumping...hey, when you got a good move going, no point in changing it. And milk...completely gone. We tried mixing orange juice with it and selling it as "juice"...our son is one smart cookie and didn't buy the "juice" story. We'll figure out calcium in another way. He has been eating a ton lately though, which is awesome...of course, everything (and we mean everything) needs ketchup...America's favorite condiment...right? For my own records...he weighed 25lbs. 12oz. and was 33in. at his last appointment. Also, was not loving the doctors at all...makes for such fun appointments. He has ANOTHER cold...this kid and colds...they love him. Once again, it doesn't slow him down at all. He loves dogs and he is very sweet with them...likes to get a little too close (freaks Jake out a little, which I understand since Jake was bit at a young age and has a facial scar to prove it). Hugh's new room is painted...now we are just waiting for his bed to come so we can move him out of his crib, which he climbed out of a few weeks ago. He hasn't climbed out of the crib since...well, we took out all of the pillows that gave him the height to climb out. Yes, I am one of those moms that left the crib bumper on and put several blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals in the crib...I figure no one likes to be lonely while they sleep. My neighbor gave me a look of horror when I told her how much "stuff" we had in the crib...she told me she just started letting her two and half year-old sleep with a blanket. Never thought all the items could be harmful, which have been in the crib since he was little. You see, I never really think about what could be harmful...sometimes I forget to lock the door...while Jake is out of town...oops (don't tell Jake...this happened once a long time ago). Anyway, way off topic. He was very proud of himself when he climbed out...and he had no problem showing my mom how he did it. He'll learn (I am sure soon) that some secrets are better left untold. Didn't take a ton of pictures this week, but I was trying the Justin Bieber look on him (because I think Hugh (especially if he had more hair...now, we can never cut his hair) can really pull off the look with all of his hair pushed forward...and for those of you who don't know who Justin Bieber is...well, you would, if you were twelve (like I clearly am) and would be rushing to rip the pics out of your Bop and Tiger Beat magazines...no lie). Wow, I am awesome. Hugh is wonderful...sweet and silly as always, and we love him SO much!
And the baby in the womb...everything seems to be going splendidly...this little one still likes to remind me who is in charge with normally one vomit session a week...oh, sweet baby. This little one can be very active and we love feeling all the movement. Only four, long, hot months to go...oh, yeah.
We are taking a parenting class at church and we continue to learn that we have lots to learn...praise God that His mercies are new every morning and His grace is never ending. We are really looking forward to learning more and continuing to raise Hugh to love the Lord...we know it is what matters. Hope everyone is doing well!
